Great Tool for Queen Breeders and Hobby Beekeepers

The EZB Queen Pen marking tool allows you to transfer your queen easily from her cage to a marking plunger for precise marking, and then back to her cage - all without the need for direct handling.

Instructions:

  1. Place marking cage in Queen Pen with gate open and plunger back.
  2. Remove plug, or cap, from queen cage and quickly place it properly in the Queen Pen.
  3. Allow the queen bee to walk into the marking cage.  It may help to rotate the Queen Pen.
  4. Once the queen bee is inside the marking cage, shut the gate.
  5. Now you can remove the marking cage and mark your queen.  Allow paint to dry.
  6. Make sure the queen cage is still in place and then place marking cage back in Queen Pen.
  7. Open the gate and allow the queen bee to crawl back into the queen cage.  You can move the plunger to limit the amount of free space is available to the queen bee thereby coaxing her toward the tunnel.
  8. Once the queen bee is back in the queen cage, remove the queen cage from the Queen Pen and quickly close the cap or insert the plug.
  9. Now your marked queen is ready for introduction to the colony.

Features:

Accommodates several common queen cages and marking cages.

Warranty:

If you happen to break the EZB Queen Pen to the point it will not longer work properly, we will replace it.  You only pay for shipping.  This only applies to the Queen Pen and not any other products that may be sold with it.

EZB Queen Pen Review

The device is well made and I am anxious to use it this spring to mark my ordered mated queens. It is a very innovative design and can recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient way to mark queens.

Thank you!

Time will tell

Havn't had a chance to use it yet, however it appears that it will be easy to use.

Thanks for the review!

Queen Pen

I won't be using it until the hives open up in the spring of course. But just looking at it, it looks like a well thought out item and it should be a lot safer for myself and the Queen.

Thanks for the review!
